					<description>Well said Allison.

The more people talking about this the more people become aware of tai chi and qi gong. When I tell people how many documented benefits there really are, they don't always believe me.

					<description>Hey Pat,

That is a great story. Thanks for sharing.

I really don't think I can understand how amazing that is....

I like the part about the shiny spider eyes on the road. I've seen those in Big Bend... and was thinking about going out there just today.

<description>Thanks for the comment John. I'm back! Finished all my surgeries and am now a walking "miracle man!" No kidding. I can't yet start the running gambit yet, but am able to ride a bike. So that's a big plus for me, in addition to being able to work out at the gym. All parts, but my stomach area. The hole there is kinda, not ready for that kind of pressure/activity yet. Hopefully, I'll figure out how to post more blogs on this site. Unable to crack the code, so far.
Thanks again, and just to let you know. God is alive &#38; well!

<description>Patrick, this narrative amazes me. I had no idea you were a runner. I have great admiration for you. My sister (who lives near Denver) has run several triathlons and does "Ride the Rockies" (a bike race) just about every year, too. Although I don't exactly lead a sedentary life, these marathon treks don't appeal to me in anyway.

Your 'triumph/ordeal' reminded of the year we decided to walk to Lake Michigan across the Sleeping Bear Dunes in Northern Michigan. In 41 years of vacationing in that area, I'd never done it before, but in my 41st summer, I was inexplicably motivated to do just that. It was SO hot--the sand was blistering. And when you're climbing sand dunes, it's three steps forward, two steps back. We made it all the way to Lake Michigan, took a dip in the water, and then walked back. I can remember thinking to myself, "Step, step, step...keep walking, keep walking..." We survived, but it was literally MONTHS before I didn't feel my Achilles tendons 's-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g themselves out first thing in the morning.

Congrats.

<description>I always read this about dogs not starting to run until they are about a year old (or full grown) but I wonder if there are breeds that are exceptions?

I'm getting impatient about waiting...My Border Collie is 9 months old so I've limited the running to 1-2 miles a couple of times per week. I used to run 5+ miles a day but have put that on hold.

Right now, he does seem to tire (hangs back with me) after about 1-2 miles. We usually hike a bit after that and sprint...Just wondering if I could do more.</description>
