Talking Can anyone tell me how to get just a little faster - 05-07-2008, 06:34 PM

Hello out there,

I'm a 25 year old female (about 120 lbs.) who has never been a fast runner (no long legs here). Really, I'm more of a jogger. I try to make it to the treadmill about 2-3 times a week and I usually run ("jog") at most for 1 hr. Honestly, endurance running is my forte and sometimes I can keep my steady pace for over the hour. However, I'm kind of lazy (and not knowledgable) about training for a better speed. On the treadmill, I can run from 6.0 to 6.5 for the whole hour.

Please, any advice? Should I start at 5.5, and then go to 6.0 or 6.5 for 5 minutes, and then back to 5.5 and so forth? I think part of my laziness is due to the fact that I don't have a plan of action to stick to. As you can see, I'm clueless and would appreciate any help, thanx!
