Rain and marathon

I have a quick question for you. What do you think about to run a marathon in the rain?

Have you ever expereinced it?

I think its fun to run in the rain. I have run long distances in the rain. You should wear a cap to avoid straight water fall on your head.

Ok, first of all, let me preface this by saying I have never run a marathon in the rain. This being said, I have run many shorter distances in anything from a sprinkle to a downpour. Just last week I did a 5 miler training run in a steady drizzle.


I encourage people to run in the rain. If you were planning to run and then there's rain, gear up for it, suck it up and go outside and have some fun. Remember when you were a kid, didn't you have fun playing in the rain?


Most races are held rain or shine. So if you get used to it in training and it should occur come race day, at least you'll know what to expect and it won't be a total shock.
