Default Correct breathing technique. - 12-27-2007, 09:06 PM

Is it true that I should breathe in with my mouth and not my nose? New to the site. Thanks!

It may sound impossible and silly, but it works. Shut your mouth and breath through your nose. It will save your mouth from dryness and sore throat.

Breathing in with your mouth will allow you to bring more air into your lungs than using your nose, but it will also remove the filters to that air. I tend to use my nose to breath when there is traffic around and I am not running too hard just to limit the amounts of toxins in the air that I'm bringing into my body (and to make sure that I keep my pace slow enough.)

Breathing through my nose is one of my main methods of making sure that I run easy on my easy days:
