I have been troubled by the state of running shoes these past few years. I have long since recovered from the loss of my last pair of Chuck Taylors. I have gotten used to bizarre colors, shapes, and decorations that served no function. I do not even mind that my shoes have two inch heels. I got over stubbing my feet because they it the ground too soon for my brain. (Go ahead make a joke). In fact, I have shrunk about two inches in the last twenty years so my eyes are still in the right spot when I am running.

What I want know is why do they make the laces so damn long? They make them so long you could use them to tie around the axle of my car to tow it out of a snow bank. I wrap them around and around, over and through, and they still hang over and threaten to get pulled unloose, tripping me, and causing my running times to slow incredibly. (One joke per customer) You can not cut them. Then they won't come in and out of the eyelets to hold your ChampionChip.
