Words of advice from those who have "been there"
- Start slowly. Follow the training schedule!
- Go at your own pace. Don't be pressured to run or walk faster than you are comfortable with.
- Think positively. Focus on what feels good, not on what hurts.
- Make time to work out. Set aside a specific time for your workouts and protect this time so that other commitments don't interfere with your training.
- Congratulate yourself. After a workout, stop and think about how good you feel. Remember this feeling the next time you're not too keen about heading out.
