Post Run In The Moment - 12-10-2006, 04:50 PM

Only runners understand the dreaded prognosis my doctor gave me last month: "It's time to transition to another activity. If you continue to put in the miles, you'll need complete knee replacement within two years." My tip for all those who are "holding back" on their training becasue work is really busy or letting another runner pass them in the last mile of an ultra because "There's always the next race" is to live in the moment and put all you have into your passion today. There may not be next week or next month.

so sorry to hear that, i have been off running for 2 weeks now because of an injury during a 15k. it is so hard to not be able to do what you want to do. I hope you can find something else that challenges and rewards you the way running does.

Cutie,
I feel you on this one, years ago I was told to back off my running due to hip problems, I took up cydling and swimming as "cross training" and I have been able to run off and on, running is my passion but in order to save the hips I had to choose some alternates. Does your Doctor have any sugestions for other ways to stay active and save the knee?
