Jeff Galloway's 'Marathon - You Can Do It' was my favorite training manual out of 4 different programs I read books on. He has a website too:

I just ran my first marathon Dec 10, 2006after 6 months training with his program and I LOVED it! He does include nutritional information, but I also liked Nancy Clark's Food Guide for Marathoners for additional food info. Good Luck!
